Hi, thanks for having a look, I apologize for this excuse
for a web site, as you can tell it's my first.
Anyhow back to me, my name is Kevin, I'm 45, married with
one seventeen year old daughter, I've been a ham since June 1993 and held a
full ticket since 1994. I'm into any type of communication, sadly like most
, I don't get as much time with the hobby as I would like. I'm not a builder
of equipment, I have had a go, but again it needs time and I much prefer to
have a natter if I can.
My main hobby is flying my microlight, you'll find
links on this site to give you more information on microlight flying. Type
of machine I fly is called a Flexwing, its good old fashion flying by your
seat of your pants stuff. I've logged over 650 hours as P1 , I try to fly
every weekend, but its a bit challenging with our weather.
I live in Cradley which is in the West Midlands, 261 feet
ASL, doesn't sound bad 261 but all the surrounding ground is higher, I'm in
a bit of a VHF/UHF blackspot, hence the Internet linking stuff. I first
started hooking radios up to the internet quite a few years ago, before the
likes of Eqso and Echolink, they were not too reliable though.
Big thanks to Richard G0EWH for the work he's done on
gateway radio and interface, it sounds really good.
I'll put some more stuff on when I can.
